His Glory
His Glory
‘Knowledge of it will fill the Earth as the waters cover the sea!’
Design Description:
How can you begin to represent the Glory of God? It is another of His attributes impossible to capture - its awesome power, its brightness or its transcendent beauty. The best we could do was to paint lightweight silk yellow, then gold, then add another layer of gold. The gold is in layers and streams to represent the overpowering and continued presence of the Glory when it becomes tangible or visible. Who can predict when those in worship will be blessed by the cloud of Glory, the fire of God, or the manifest outworking of Holy Spirit? We await the manifestation on the earth of the declaration that one day the knowledge of His Glory will fill the earth as the waters cover the sea - Selah! Name of the LORD: Bible Verses: God's glory is one of His distinctive features (Exodus 15:11). The knowledge of His glory will cover the earth as the waters cover the sea! (Have you ever thought about HOW the waters cover the sea?) Moses asked to see His glory, but God had to protect Moses from the full effect of it (Exodus 33:18-23). The Bible records special manifestations of His Glory to Abraham (Acts 7:2), as a pillar of cloud and fire (Exodus 13:21; 14:19; 16:10; 33:9; 40:36; Numbers 9:17; 10:11; 12:5; 16:42; Deuteronomy 1:33; 31:15; Nehemiah 9:12; Psalm 78:14; 105:39; and Isaiah 4:5), and as the Shekinah, the supernatural light or cloud which appeared on the mercy seat (Exodus 40:35; Leviticus 16:2; 1 Kings 8:10; 2 Chronicles 5:13; Psalm 80:1; Isaiah 37:16; and Ezekiel 9:3). To the Israelites in Exodus 24:17 the glory of the Lord looked like a consuming fire on the top of the mountain. At the birth of Jesus, the glory shone around as the Angel of the Lord appeared and the shepherds were terrified. In that instance the angel declared "Glory to God in the Highest" (Luke 2:9; 2:14). In heaven the seraphs declare His holiness and glory, which He will not yield to anyone, (Isaiah 6:3, 48:11), and declare His worthiness for glory (Revelation 21:23). Even the Heavens declare the glory of God (Psalm 19:1)! John declared that they had seen the glory of God in Jesus and Jesus agreed with him (John 1:14; 17:5, 24; Hebrews 1:3). We can now reflect the Lord’s glory with ever increasing glory (2 Corinthians 3:18). Man’s glory is nothing compared to God’s (Psalm 49:17; Isaiah 5:14; Hosea 4:7; 9:11; 1 Peter 1:24). God’s glory can depart from His people (1 Samuel 4:21). We are to declare it among the nations and to the Lord Himself (1 Chronicles 16:24, 28; Psalm 29:1; 96:3). The glory to come will far outweigh our current troubles (2 Corinthians 4:17) when the whole earth will see it as He returns and surrounds Himself with heavenly glory on His throne (Matthew 24:30; 25:31).
