“He who gets wisdom loves his own soul and prospers.”
The turquoise on this banner represents another of God's attributes - His wisdom. This banner represents His willingness to give wisdom directly into the events of our daily lives as we seek His wisdom for them. As man reaches up for His wisdom, revelation and knowledge, God is already reaching down to provide it. He will provide it afresh over and over as we ask for it. God is keen for His wisdom, revelation and knowledge to be made accessible to us. In fact, we cannot fulfil our God-given destiny without it!
We can see how much God delights in giving His wisdom to man from His interaction with Solomon in 1 Kings 3:5-14 and in James 1:5, He confirms His willingness to pour it out.
James 3:17-18 (AMP) instructs us on how to discern godly wisdom and the fruit that godly wisdom produces in our life: "The wisdom from above is first of all pure (undefiled); then it is peace-loving, courteous (considerate, gentle). (It is willing to) yield to reason, full of compassion and good fruits; it is whole-hearted and straightforward, impartial and unfeigned (free from doubts, wavering and insincerity)."
Likewise James 3:14-15 (AMP) tells us how to discern earthly wisdom: "But if you have bitter jealousy (envy) and contention (rivalry, selfish ambition) in your hearts, do not pride yourself on it and thus be in defiance of and false to the Truth. This (superficial) wisdom is not such as comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual (animal), even devilish (demoniacal)."
Godly wisdom (which begins with the fear of the Lord) causes us to be self controlled in our speech which sets us apart as mature people. (James 3:2)
