How We Got Involved with Worship Banners

Praise and Worship mounted. Next song, the Holy Spirit had me use the Anointing Oil banner and walk thru the church and "touch", ever so gently each person in the church.

We first met David Stanfield, aka David Half-Beard, in Ann Arbor, Michigan in April of 2005, at Shekinah Christian Church. We were attending a conference with Bill Hamon, and also witnessing the installation of Sister Pat as an Apostle. David is an unique man from 'down-under,' who is passionate about worship and obviously loves color and pageantry. That weekend we watched him wield his banners in abandonment. We were not unaccustomed to banners, but were not currently interested in using them.

A few months later, our choir was putting a new song together about the Son of Righteousness arising, and I could envision the dance girls raising the Glory banner during the song. I began searching online to see how we could reach David to order one. During this search we found that he, Barbara Yoder, Chuck Pierce, Dutch Sheets, and the Wagners, were holding an Intercessory Warfare Conference in Seattle. We knew immediately we needed to attend, and would wait to buy the banner there.

Upon arrival in Seattle, we found David scurrying around to set up his banner sales tables and Pat offered to give him a hand. Then the unexpected happened: Pat was not only running the booth, he was running with a banner in the worship service.

He became an immediate believer in the power of the representation of these banners and we purchased seven to take home. Since then we have ordered seven more banners. They have added a tangible, physical representation of what is happening during our worship services. As we wave each banner with an awareness of its meaning, we focus on its message and claim the promise of it. We are thankful that these beautiful banners have been added to our worship, as a reminder of the beauty of the Lord and His handiworks.
